It took 20,000 people two years to complete the Millennium Mosaic, which features visions Islanders had of Jersey’s present and future in the year 2000.
Space men and rockets sit alongside underwater fish farms and an Island controlled by technology and eye-in-the-sky CCTV systems, as well as images depicting overdevelopment, environmental concerns, tolerance and virtual environments.
The gargantuan work, which is made up of 18 panels each measuring 1.2 metres by two metres, has been in storage for the past seven years because nowhere could be found to show it.
However, between 1 and 14 May, the mosaic will be on display at Sir Francis Cook Gallery, at Oaklands, Trinity.
Admission is free and parking is available at the gallery.
