Two-thirds of the young people who attended the youth Imagine Jersey 2035 event last week said they felt that the views they expressed during the day would not be listened to – an opinion only shared by 40% of the Islanders who attended January’s event at the Royal Yacht Hotel.
However, Chief Minister Frank Walker was keen to assure the students who took part in last Friday’s event that this would not be the case.
‘I was hugely impressed by the commitment shown by these young people to this event and the views expressed by them,’ he said. ‘I assured them that the States are listening and we will act upon what they’ve said.’
