Lace, an eight-year-old colourpoint white cat, disappeared from her home in New Street in December after taking fright when a fridge was being delivered.
Her owner Magda Hannaford set up an immediate search to find her but, despite support from many people, it was unsuccessful.
Although she never lost hope of Lace turning up, she was delighted last week when the Animals Shelter contacted her to say that her cat, which had an identity chip, had been found.
The rescue of the cat was down to Jay-Me Spence and Annette Hodkinson who both work at Ernest Jones the jewellers in Queen Street.
