That is the opinion of the Association of Jersey Architects, who today published their views on the Hopkins Masterplan ? the scheme that could see the construction of a brand new financial district and the lowering of Route de la Libération.
Their comments are published on the same day as Jersey Homes Trust chairman Michael van Neste has attacked the Waterfront plan for having ‘little to do with’ the reasons given for reclamation in Jersey decades ago. The AJA say that although they support the ideas put forward by Hopkins Architects, who designed the Esplanade Square development, they feel that overall it lacks local relevance.
