The French Renault Char B, which was captured by the Germans and used in its army, now sits outside the Jersey War Tunnels in St Peter’s Valley.
The 25-tonne vehicle has been loaned by the Tank Museum in Bovington, Dorset, for about six months while the attraction is refurbished.
Accompanied by a police escort the crated tank was carried on a flatbed lorry from the Harbour at 4 am this morning and manoeuvred into position by a 40-foot crane.
