SPORT and leisure facilities in Jersey have been ranked in the top ten per cent in Britain.
Fort Regent, Les Quennevais and Langford were inspected by Quest, a national body that examines standards in the industry, and they scored the Jersey centres at 75 per cent. Springfield also achieved a pass rate of 71 per cent.
The facilities were inspected through mystery visits and a two-day assessment which covered customer service, staffing, cleanliness and sport development.
Education Minister Mike Vibert said: ‘The process has proven to be a great motivator for staff and demonstrates what can be achieved by teams and individuals during the self-evaluation and external assessments.
‘In the two years since our previous assessments the sports division and centre staff have used the facilities management framework to develop and implement best practice principles throughout the department and it is extremely rewarding for them to now receive the recognition they deserve.’
The facilities of Fort Regent, Les Quennevais and Langford are currently showcasing images taken by JEP photographers. The exhibitions focus on sport in Jersey and also the Rhodes Island Games from last year.
