Quartet attend British training camp in Scotland

The quartet travelled to Scotland’s National Sports Centre in Largs, attempting to win places in the British Gymnastics Disabilities squad.

A total of 27 attended the two-and-a-half day cap where competitors were tested on skills, strength and flexibility; all important aspect for progress in the sport.

Island coach John Grady, who attended with fellow coach Yana Vibert, said: ‘All were successful in that they have been invited to the next train camp which is expected to involved other hopefuls and the selection of the squad will then take place.

‘They all performed well at Largs achieving good results on the majority of tests and activities.

We will be sent a performance report on each gymnast; it looks positive in the area of skills and strength however it was apparent that flexibility was an area of weakness.’
