The Borsalino Rocque, which was opened in 1980 by George Skelley, will be sold to developers for housing next September, but it is remaining in business until then.
The restaurant is owned by local company Gorsens and is currently being sold to developers Manor Homes Ltd for an undisclosed sum.
Mr Skelley said that it was his decision to retire in September 2009 when his lease on the building comes to an end. He and his wife Rosemary would be sad to see the restaurant close, but he felt that it was time to call it a day.
