Assembly refuses to let the Eagle Tavern reopen

Announcing the bench’s rejection on Thursday, the Bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache, said that until the owners of the tavern could give a compelling case to show that lessons had been learnt and residents’ lives would not be disrupted they would not grant the licence.

‘The public and residents living in properties adjacent to licensed premises do not and should not have to tolerate drunken and disgusting behaviour,’ he said.
