The group, which features the top young golfers in the Island, will take part in a number of training sessions that have been developed specifically for them by PwC School of Excellence co-ordinator Mike Deeley, the Club professional at La Moye Golf Club.
Deeley said: ‘I’m really looking forward to working with these talented young golfers.
A number of them have already played in high quality tournaments both on and off the Island.
‘Their standard of play is high already, which is hugely encouraging for Jersey golf.
‘We will start in the Christmas holidays with a couple of sessions and there will be about ten in total incorporating all aspects of the game including golf course management, rules and mental awareness.
‘We will also be putting a fitness programme together for them and looking at nutrition and diet.
‘The School aims to enable these players to realise their potential through working with golf professionals and to develop them in a broader sense as sportsmen and women.
‘We have a diverse range of sessions lined up to reflect those objectives and we are extremely grateful for PwC’s continued support that helps us to deliver this programme.’
Most of the sessions, about ten in all, will take place before the golf season gets into full swing early next May.
Those selected for the squad are: Matt Nicolle, Keiran Goodricke, Josh Ozard, James Newton, Chris Young, Harry Steel, Will Lennox, Georgia Wallace, James Gibaut, Jamie Griffiths, Harry Singleton, Andrew Rafferty, Sam Crenan, Nick House, Will Taylor, Joe Houz;, Luke Denoual, Steven Goguelin, Ben Rose, Dan Scriven and Steven Anderson.
