Having undergone a huge refurbishment, Eden will be on the top floor of the old Cosmopolitan site on the Esplanade. Co-director Dean Helm said that they were very excited about the future and believed that there was a large market for a specific gay club in Jersey.
‘Whereas previously the Cosmopolitan’s policy was a straight club that was gay-friendly, Eden is a gay bar that welcomes straight people,’ he said.
‘No one will be excluded, but we feel that the gay people of Jersey need a venue like this.’
Mr Helm added that the new club would not have the ‘open affection’ restrictions which were in place at Cosmopolitan. ‘There is no law against kissing, and we want our customers to have a comfortable environment in which to enjoy themselves.’
