Infrasoft Technologies, a company specialising in software for the banking and financial services industry, last month announced that it had decided to base its offshore operation in the Island.
Globally the firm employs some 500 staff, including 30 in the Jersey office.
Infrasoft acquired a foothold in the Island last year when it purchased M Consulting and is one of several Indian-based operations using Jersey as a hub to expand further into Europe and offshore.
Rajesh Mirjankar, president of the Europe operations and services business, said: ‘We spent five years researching the Jersey market.
What we have concluded is that local companies have the ability, but are not able to take things global.
But global companies have no knowledge of the Jersey regulations.
We want to blend the two and turn two weaknesses into our strengths.
We think there is huge potential.
