He said that those who contend that the company can stay in public ownership are not only misguided but are misleading the firm’s staff into believing that the current position can be maintained. In a letter in tonight’s JEP (page 15), Mr Henwood says that the company cannot be maintained in public ownership if it is going to have a future. He also expresses the board of the States-owned utility’s dismay at the news that Treasury Minister Terry La Sueur has agreed to delay a debate on the privatisation of Jersey Telecom until next January.
