The comprehensive document, which runs to 24 pages and has 13 appendices attached, outlines the case against the Senator and asks politicians to support his dismissal in accordance with Article 21 (4) of the States of Jersey Law 2005. A debate is scheduled to be held on 11 September. However, Senator Syvret lodged a vote of confidence in himself on Friday to be debated on the same day. The document calling for the Health Minister’s dismissal says that the majority of ministers support the proposal. Only Home Affairs Minister Wendy Kinnard did not back move to dismiss Senator Syvret. The Health Minister stands accused of undermining child protection arrangements and increasing the risk to vulnerable children by unfairly attacking staff, leading to low morale, employment problems, sickness and stress. The proposal claims that the Senator bullied and harassed staff in ‘threatening and abusive’ e-mails. It claims his behaviour was unbecoming of a minister in terms of the language contained in communications.
