Brighton Road Developments Ltd have applied to Planning to knock down 8-16 Brighton Road, which they bought last week for more than £650,000. But the shop owners are unhappy because they claim that they were given little notice. The company is a joint venture between J J Fox International and Mière Construction. Director John Gleave said that the plans for the houses had not been fully drawn up and, as the application was still pending, he would not comment further. The shops due to close are M F Guns, which has been on site for 24 years, and Press Gang Dry Cleaners, which has been there for 13 years.
