During debates stretching from Tuesday afternoon to this morning, Members have voted against a raft of proposals including a referendum, removing Constables, removing Senators, electing Deputies to six super-constituencies rather than parish districts and setting up a four-year term. The Privileges and Procedures Committee, who are responsible for States reform, saw their proposals fail yesterday, and a further proposal for a four-option referendum put forward by Senator Jim Perchard was rejected by 32 votes to 13 this morning. The amendments and propositions debated since Tuesday have failed by margins between 40 and five votes.
