Bill Brown, who has previously worked in the former British colony, was approached to take up a position with global business Hutchison Whampoa. He will step down on the third anniversary of his joining the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority (JCRA). He said he was approached about the new post and felt it was time to move on for a fresh challenge. ‘It was a very carefully considered decision,’ he said. ‘I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in Jersey and it has been a valuable career opportunity.’ Mr Brown (48), who is married with no children, joined the JCRA from the UK Office of Fair Trading (OFT) and was recruited at a time when the authority had experienced difficulties and been criticised over the use of its budget.
