The vehicles were based on the slipway for nine years but have moved to a secret location after their owners, Puddleducks, were refused a licence to offer trips around St Aubin’s Bay. The dukws were driven to their new home early yesterday morning. Puddleducks director Brian Tanguy said: ‘We were told that there was no room for our dukws on the slipway and we had a week to move them. After nine years taking people across to the castle, it’s a sad journey to be making, but we had no alternative.’ Visitors to the castle are now being carried by a new operator, Pure Adventure Jersey, who were awarded the licence to run this season’s service late last year.
