Trevor Collenette (51) was arrested after 183 slabs of cocaine were found in a sealed compartment at the stern of the yacht on 4 June. Officers had to break into hidden cavities to find the drugs. But Mr Collenette, a retired banker who worked for Lloyds TSB and lives at Five Oaks, and the others say that they are innocent victims who had no idea that the huge haul of drugs was on board. The four thought they were conducting a delivery run of a 51 ft Beneteau yacht named Gin from St Lucia to Gibraltar, where the vessel is registered. They have been charged with importation and possession with intent to supply the drugs. His lawyer, Stephen ffrench Davis, said that the charges carried life sentences.
