Already 42 placements have been organised out of 100 available and students are being encouraged to pop into the Enterprise and Business Development office, Bath Street, to discuss opportunities still available.

The initiative gives undergraduates an insight into career opportunities in Jersey and the chance to work in meaningful, paid placements to develop their skills in the workplace.

It also links organisations with high-calibre potential employees.

Project manager Lucy Davis said: ‘I would encourage undergraduates to drop in and introduce themselves personally to us.

We would be very pleased to give advice and possibly arrange an interview.

Devised and supported by Economic Development, the programme started last year and runs throughout the summer.

Placements have been made in a variety of fields including graphic design, structural engineering, event management, TV production and IT.

States departments are also widely involved this year.
