SCF, who have a game in hand on Romerils, now trail them by 21 points following a 33-run win at FB1.

Batting first, SCF amassed 248 for five from their 45 overs following fine contributions from their top four, Island captain Matt Hague leading the way with 65 and team captain Meeku Patidar chipping in with 58.

Good partnerships laid the foundations, Hague and Steve Carlyon put on 80 for the first wicket and then Justin Le Fort (47) and Hague added 78.

Romerils lost two early wickets and despite the Crocker brothers top-scoring, Nigel leading the way with five boundaries and six 6s for an unbeaten 71 – Ian hit 41 – SCF’s total proved too large to overhaul.

St Ouen moved up two places to third after a five-wicket win against Caesareans, Barry Parsons in fine form with 90 runs for the losers, but Mark Tribe (71) helped St Ouen to their target with 6.5 overs to spare.

Tom Minty returned the bowling figures of the weekend as Rathbones OVs raced to a seven-wicket win against Springfield, at Grainville, after dismissing their opponents for just 87 runs.

Minty’s fine nine-over spell finished with two maidens and five wickes for 21 runs.

Jon Giles also took three wickets for 29 runs in nine overs.
