Despite bad weather threatening to throw tomorrow’s Liberation Day celebrations into chaos, the organisers say the centre-piece concert in People’s Park will go ahead. There were fears at lunchtime, too, that the Royal visit by the Duke of Kent might be affected. Flights were cancelled today and yesterday because of fog and a failure of the landing equipment that guides planes down in bad weather (see report on page 2). But Assistant Economic Development Minister Alan Maclean said he was confident that the Duke would be able to get to the Island today.
