The man who founded the iQ Appleshop in Burrard Street in St Helier in 2004 and won the Indigo Lighthouse Group accolade at this year’s Jersey Enterprise Awards has been running a School of Mac since the beginning of March with introductory courses to Mac OSX.

It has had a good response.

He has had 20 students on each of the five courses he has run so far in a conference room on the top floor of Osbourne House, which is a stone’s throw from the shop.

‘We have a dedicated Mac training room with ten bang up-to-date iMac machines with a projector screen for them to watch and follow,’ said Mr Evans, who was in the same year as Jersey football legend Graeme Le Saux at d’Hautrée School – Graeme was also a winner on the Enterprise Awards night when he collected the Ambassador of the Year Award.

Mr Evans (32) was a cabinetmaker who graduated into the IT business after he came up with the idea of installing iPods in bars and coffee shops five years ago.
