Rouge Bouillon School, the largest primary in the Island, received the award last week, along with Ace of Clubs, which provides out-of-school activities for five- to 11-year-olds and is also based at the school. The club is the first organisation of its kind locally to have achieved the standard. Club co-ordinator Mechele Miller said the award reflected the commitment and hard work of all the staff. ‘Since the club was inaugurated 11 years ago there has been a strong commitment by all staff to the aims and objectives of the club that has enabled the teams to deliver their respective activities,’ she said. ‘There is a wide range of learning and development activities here, with a good balance between mandatory training and learning and development designed to meet individuals’ needs. Staff involve children in planning their activities and this is a big plus for our success.’
