Jersey Heritage Trust have applied to put up a 3.5m by 1.2m turbine to run lights in the tower for visitors this summer. But the decision has been deferred because Senator Freddie Cohen is worried that the vibrations from the machinery will damage the 17th-century fort. Speaking at a ministerial planning meeting yesterday, he said he was also concerned that guests would be able to gain access to the turbine. Senator Cohen also said he would need to seek legal advice because he was a previous president of the Jersey Heritage Trust and could have a conflict of interests in making his decision.
