A 44-YEAR-OLD woman has been found guilty of inappropriately touching a teenage boy after she caressed his inner thigh and attempted to pull down his shorts.

Claire Louise Fowell was convicted of sexual touching without consent yesterday following a two-day trial in the Magistrate’s Court.

The offences took place on Friday 9 May 2025 at Portelet Beach.

The teenager was on the beach with friends when Fowell touched his inner thigh and attempted to pull down his shorts.

Fowell was charged on 30 October 2025 and directed to appear at the Magistrate’s Court on 20 November 2025, where she entered a not guilty plea.

Following the verdict yesterday, Detective Inspector Christina Maclennan said: “Sexual offending in any form is completely unacceptable and today’s conviction reflects our commitment to ensuring that those who commit such offences will be held to account.

“No one should feel unsafe or subjected to unwanted contact, and we hope this outcome provides reassurance that such behaviour will not be tolerated.

“We continue to work to protect victims, pursue offenders and bring them to justice. We would encourage anyone who has experienced sexual assault to contact us or our partner agencies.”

Fowell will be sentenced on Friday 24 April.
