The former England international said that he was extremely proud to have been recognised for his work in promoting Jersey throughout the world. Mr Le Saux was awarded the Guiton trophy last night by the Bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache, who said that his efforts were something ‘not seen since the days of Bergerac’ – and they made him a worthy recipient of the award. Genuine Jersey and the Jersey Heritage Trust were runners-up in the category, which was judged by a panel from the Guiton Group headed by chairman John Averty.
