Jersey Pottery will have nearly a hundred staff working from a temporary kitchen at Fort Regent to serve a two-course meal plus coffee and petits fours to every guest, all within a strict timeframe. The scale of the task is clear from these figures: Over 4,200 pieces of crockery will be used to serve the dinner. Over 4,200 glasses have been polished. Over 5,000 pieces of cutlery will grace the tables. At least 1,500 bottles of drinks will be consumed. 300 kilos of ice will help keep drinks cool. 60 litres of gravy has taken 25 hours to make. Most Jersey Pottery staff won’t finish clearing up before 5 am tomorrow. There will be eight ovens working full time with 24 kitchen staff and chefs.
