In what was a testing day of competition Jersey’s pairing of Lyndsey Greechan and Jamie Macdonald lost to Ireland’s Cunningham and Greenfield 7-4 and 8-2 but picked up against the Isle of Man’s Moore and Alderson winning 12-6 but then losing 7-5.

The second pairing of Chris Grimes and Thomas Greechan were beaten by Ireland’s Bell and Baker 6-5 and 5-2 but bounced back to beat a European Select 14-1 and 10-5.

In the singles, the ladies won both with Lyndsey Greechan storming to victory against Ireland’s Bell, winning 12-4 and 9-6 and Grimes doing the same against Moore of the Isle of Man to win 11-5 and 12-5.

However, there was mixed success for the men as Macdonald won 10-5 then lost 11-1 against the Isle of Man’s Alderson, and Thomas Greechan held Baker from Ireland to an 8-8 draw but then lost 12-3.

Jersey are now behind leaders Spain, then Israel and Scotland but face close competition from England who are in fifth having only played for one day.
