Jersey Post staff take voluntary redundancy

The JEP has learned that workers in the sales and marketing department are being asked to take voluntary redundancy but Mr Pinel would not be any clearer about the scale of the cuts. He said that to go into any more detail would be an ‘infringement of people’s personal freedom’ and he would only say that around ten people have volunteered to be made redundant. ‘Ten or so people are taking voluntary redundancies. We are becoming more cost effective, efficient and cutting back on excesses,’ Mr Pinel said. ‘Voluntary redundancy is not people losing their jobs,’ he added.
