The environmental citizenship campaign, which is partnered by the Jersey Evening Post, is offering Islanders of all ages the opportunity to express their views on environmental issues on a dedicated website and have that information read by politicians and other decision-makers. The website offers government-endorsed information on a wide range of environmentally friendly issues and equipment, including on recycling and carbon emission reduction. Between Friday and Sunday, 10,000 Islanders visited the Planet Jersey exhibition at the Royal Jersey Showground in Trinity, with the Friday event dedicated to schoolchildren. The website is being run by staff from the Environment department, led by director Chris Newton and co-ordinated by Fiona Glover. It was set up by Stephen Chang and the IT team in the Chief Minister’s department.
