Assistant Economic Development Minister Alan Maclean said that an assessment of what could be built on the sizeable area, which includes the Airport football pitches, would be conducted over the next six months. ‘We are looking at all the options as part of a review to achieve better commercial returns from the Airport estate and we will consider all sensible options,’ he said. Among the approaches that have been made is for new hangars to house executive and business jets, an aviation museum – which has been proposed by the organisers of the Jersey International Air Display – and a retail park. Deputy Maclean said the Airport authorities were working alongside planning officials to develop a brief for the site.
