HDferries managing director Chris Howe Davies said that the Regulation of Undertakings licence was granted earlier this week and they could now get on and advertise for the 25 staff expected to be employed to operate services. Representatives from the business have been in the Island carrying out interviews for much of this week. The company has already appointed two masters for the vessel HD1 that will operate services. ‘We are making good progress, and all would appear to be on schedule for our start date on 15 March,’ he said. Meanwhile, the ship itself has gone into dry dock in Gibraltar and is in the process of being painted with its new livery.
