The new agreement means that Rossborough will be able to tap in to HSBC’s expertise in the London market for clients facing more complex risks – including the States of Jersey.
In turn, HSBC will be better able to strengthen its position in the local insurance market.
Clive de la Cour, deputy managing director at Rossborough in Jersey, said: ‘Increasingly we are being asked to quote for more and more complex risks, and risks with a worldwide flavour, so this was an ideal opportunity for us, at a time that HSBC were looking to increase their insurance business.
Mr de la Cour said that Rossborough had the advantage of having local infrastructure in place to support the business and that HSBC was a major player with a presence in the London market.
He said that probably the best example was the States of Jersey, which has insurance protection requirements ranging from property damage to medical malpractice and professional indemnity cover.
