Nearly 50 Islanders have already expressed an interest in joining the Bedell Group Vietnam Challenge 2007, but that leaves 80 places still to be filled for the expedition, which will leave Jersey exactly a year from today.
The fund-raising effort follows successful similar expeditions to Peru and Mexico but this is the first time that a trekking option has been offered.
The intrepid volunteers will cover a combined distance of more than 780km over two weeks.
Anyone taking part in the challenge must pay £750 towards the cost of the trip and raise a further £2,750 for Hospice.
However, as an added incentive, the organisers have for the first time included a sliding scale, which means that the more people raise, the less they pay toward the trip.
