The event, being staged at the Town Hall on the afternoon of Sunday 29 October – the day the appeal is launched – is likely to put the Constables in the spotlight as they answer not too taxing questions about Jersey history and general knowledge.
And Tony Murphy, a well-known star at the Cosmopolitan nightclub, will portray the show’s frosty questioner, Anne Robinson.
However, he promises more of a twinkle in his eye and a little less bite.
Organisers of the show, the Parish of St Helier’s Social Committee, are delighted with the enthusiastic response from the Constables when they were invited to take part.
Ten of them will be taking part.
The two who can’t make it because they are out of the Island – the Constable of St Lawrence, Geoffrey Fisher, and the Constable of St Mary, Ken Le Brun – will be sending their chefs de police, Centeniers Tim Tindall and Nigel Crespel, to represent them.
