Mr Langlois has staked his reputation on the outcome of an experiment to dig two deep boreholes in the east of the Island.
Specialist drilling was supposed to have been carried out by the firm run by his long-time friend and fellow diviner Lewis de la Haye.
However, Mr de la Haye’s company last week withdrew from the project because of the loss of a key member of staff.
However, another contractor, Amplus, has been recruited and is scheduled to start the specialist work on 11 September.
It is still hoped that the results will be known by the end of next month but later than what was understood to have been the original timetable.
The tests are designed to resolve once and for all the argument as to whether there are deep underground plentiful water supplies originating from France.
