Judges at the Nantwich International Cheese Show awarded the Island company’s yoghurts two gold awards, one silver, two bronze and a very highly recommended accolade.

And it was their rhubarb yoghurts which topped the polls – the golds went to the dairy’s Luxury Rhubarb Yoghurt and Luxury Low Fat Rhubarb Yoghurt with the Luxury Low Fat Peach collecting silver.

It is only the second time that Jersey Dairy has entered one of the biggest competitions in Britain which attracts products from specialist small producers as well as the big dairies.

The company’s head of production, David Parmiter, said: ‘The Nantwich show is the benchmark for the best in dairy products.

Last year we were surprised to win so many prizes in the face of such substantial competition.

This year’s success demonstrated that last year wasn’t a one-off and that we’re one of the best dairies in Britain.

The awards coincide with the appointment of the head chef of Longueville Manor Hotel, Andrew Baird, as Jersey Dairy’s first independent food expert.
