The victim, who was left distressed and with scratches and cut clothes, was due to be interviewed later today by the police together with members of the Family Protection Team.
It is not yet known if those who carried out the assault were known to the victim.
Inspector Mark Coxshall said today that any local knife crime would be treated very seriously by the police.
‘This case is no exception and a thorough investigation will be carried out,’ he said.
