‘It was another excellent game.
Tigers are certainly the strongest side in the league and took the lead in the first quarter, but Education fought back hard to level in the second,’ said Nick Dotter, president of the JWPA.
‘Then Tigers ran away with it, although the third quarter was end-to-end.’ Jason Hosty, who was very strong in attack and defence, scored four goals for Tigers and Steve Price produced good all round play as captain of ESC.
Jersey hosted visiting players from Hucknall WPC, Nottinghamshire over the weekend.
Although the Jersey team was beaten 9-5 on Friday evening, Dotter said the score was no disgrace.
‘It was an excellent game, we were holding them at 4-4 at half-time.
We discovered that they’d finished third in National league Division II last year, and played in Division I the year before.
The Jersey side hadn’t played as a team before so we did well.
Saturday’s was a mixed match and we won that 10-8, they were a little easier on us that day! But it was really good experience for us all to play against a team at that high level, and gave a lot of players much-needed experience.’
