The St Brelade Deputy made a personal statement in the States yesterday to outline the position about the legal matters in France.
He said that under procedures very different from those adopted in this jurisdiction, it had been possible for judgments to be given against him by a French Court without his knowledge and in his absence, on the basis that it would subsequently be open to him to appeal.
