Elsa and Darren returned home just before 10 pm last Friday when they noticed that the moon was encircled by a halo of cloud.
As they watched, mesmerised by the natural phenomenon, the moon’s powers to influence tidal flows began to work on expectant mum Elsa.
‘I was standing in the garden, looking up at the moon, as I had never seen anything like it, when my waters broke,’ she said.
Darren rushed her to hospital, and, at 6.55 am on Saturday, Kira Jayne entered the world, weighing in at 5 lb 11 oz.
The happy event was made even more significant by the couple’s surname.
It is Moon.
