The third leg of the round-the-world-race ended with an exciting sprint to the finish in Fishing Boat Bay with light winds and coastal currents setting the scene.
The Jersey vessel finished just ahead of Liverpool, and the crew are now resting in Western Australia over Christmas after the three-week third leg before the race continues onwards to Singapore.
Jersey’s bid for fifth place was helped by a 39 min 50 sec ‘redress’ they had taken off their time for slowing down to help the New York Clipper earlier in the race.
The Durban Clipper won the leg, followed by the boats from Victoria and Western Australia.
