The fund-raiser, Sindy Boleat, has made a series of allegations against the Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (JSPCA).
The inquiry is being carried out by the former registrar at the Jersey Financial Services Commission, Roger Bignell, and his report is expected to be published later this month.
The committee that runs the charity says it has adopted ‘a thorough and appropriate process’ to review the allegations.
‘These have included internal interviews, taking legal advice and the appointment of Mr Bignell,’ said a statement issued by the JSPCA today.
The JSPCA committee says it will fully consider Mr Bignell’s report and will take whatever remedial action may be necessary.
‘It would be entirely inappropriate to pre-judge the findings of Mr Bignell’s report.
No further comment will be made until the report is fully considered,’ said the JSPCA.
