Organised by the Gerard Le Claire Environmental Trust, the event has gathered increasing momentum as individuals, businesses and schools have shown growing interest over the years in making their Island a healthier place.

Trust chairman Sarah Le Claire described the support being shown for Green Day this year – which particularly highlights transport issues – by people of all ages as ‘phenomenal’.

One of the focuses of the many activities around the Island tomorrow will be in the Royal Square, where anyone making their own contribution to a greener Island by walking, cycling or sharing a car is being asked to sign a register.

‘We have had such enthusiasm that someone asked me to be in the Royal Square tomorrow at 6.30 am so she could sign the register,’ Mrs Le Claire said.
