The £2 million facility, designed to enable businesses to continue trading in the event of a disaster or crisis, provides data storage, disaster recovery and business continuity suites.

The 1,164 sq m space can accommodate more than 100 staff and is fully equipped with essential services, backed by two generators in case of power failure.

Businesses can use the facilities for any length of time, from just a couple of days to several months, until their own offices are secured.

Jersey Telecom managing director Bob Lawrence said: ‘We have been offering disaster recovery and business continuity services to some of Jersey’s largest financial institutions for some time, but these modern new facilities mean that we can offer exactly the same service now to the small and medium-sized businesses.
