Residents describe gangs of youths, some as young as ten years old, hanging around and drinking until the early hours of the morning.

They say that despite recent efforts by the Housing Department and the police, they are still not happy that enough is being done.

One resident described being kept awake until the early hours of the morning every weekend, and said some of his neighbours have even moved out because the trouble is so bad.

‘All the youngsters from other estates meet at Le Geyt on weekends, the police often turn up and move them on, but half an hour later they’re back.

It’s hell, and we’re living right in the middle of it,’ he said.

‘They rev their scooters, run in and out of the estate.

I’ve found empty litre bottles of vodka and beer cans.

‘The police say they can’t do anything, and lots of people are moving because it has got so bad,’ he said.
