Jersey clubs suffered defeats in three of the four second round group matches on Saturday, the only winners were Sporting Club who defeated Wanderers by 96 runs at Grainville.
Island captain Matt Hague was the man in form with an unbeaten 113 as SCF posted a 45-over total of 230 for three wickets.
Hague hit 13 boundaries after facing 129 balls and after Steve Carlyon went for 30 and Trevor Rousseau for just eight, Hague and Simon Short put on a third-wicket stand of 138 – Short hitting 60 runs off 60 balls before he was caught by Dave Piesing.
Wanderers were tied down by some very economical bowling from SCF, Nick Jewell in particular with an impressive four wickets for just 13 runs in nine overs including three maidens.
Adie Bouchard was also economical conceding just seven runs in his six-over spell inclusive of three maidens.
SCF and Romerils will do well to reach the semis, the top two qualify and they are currently third and fourth respectively in their group, Romerils after losing their second match on Saturday by 76 against Optimists at FB1.
Island player Ami Banerjee, who was dropped at least twice early on, went on to make an undefeated 114 for Optimists.
The Indian featured in a third-wicket partnership of 129 with Mark Jefferies.
Romerils opener Mark Saralis was in good form too falling just eight runs short of a century.
Saralis hit ten fours and one six.
Group A is wide open with five points separating the four clubs.
OVs, who lost by three wickets with just three balls to spare away to Cobo on Saturday, currently lead Caesareans by just two points.
Caesareans dropped from top spot after they lost a rain affected match to Rovers by 40 runs.
Guernsey bowler Tim Duke undone Caesareans with five wickets for 39 runs.
The final group games are on Saturday when OVs play Caesareans at FB1 and Romerils meet Sporting Club at LQ1.
In Guernsey, Optimists play Wanderers while Cobo oppose Rovers.
