Patterson led for the first lap over the course at Mont Rossignol before Mills took to the front, but there was never more then a few feet separating the pair.

On lap four Patterson regained the lead and picked up the pace, confidence flowing from gaining medals at the Games showing as he pulled away to win by almost four minutes.

The result didn’t alter the destination of the championship, however, with Mills winning that battle, six points ahead of Patterson.

Champion already, Bruce Dingle once again dominated the veteran’s class, but interest remained for the runners-up spot, with only one point separating Peter Dingle and Colin Malzard.

Unfortunately for Malzard he was off form and despite leading Dingle for a lap was unable to hold off the younger rider, who took second place in both race and championship.

Sports class championship winner Phil Le Brun had another strong ride and was pushing hard for third place overall against Bruce Dingle.

Gary Osbourne rode to second place despite Jon Coote giving his all in an attempt for second.

Youngster Rhys Hidrio again had a good ride for fourth place, and his consistency gave him second in the sports class championship.
