Said head coach Andrew Evans: ‘There have been some good performances – it’s a great achievement to get five teams through to this stage.

‘It’s a fantastic chance for the players to see exactly where they are against the national standard.

If some of them progress to the next stage that will be a really great achievment.’ Over the last month the club’s junior teams have fought their way through Island qualifiers and then CI matches against Guernsey sides to reach the final stages.

Caesarean entered eight teams, with the following five qualifying for the national stage, after enjoying 4-0 victories over the Sarnians last week – a great performance: Girls 18 and under: Francesca Dubras, Abigail Hazley and Katie Gouyette.

Boys 18 and under: Tony McGuire, Reuben de Sousa, Sundeep and Sunir Watts.

Girls 14 and under: Kirstin McArther, Alyssia Johnson, Alex Taylor and Nicole Dubras Boys 14 and under: Charlie Cohen, James Faudemer, Jonathan Van Neste, Steven Dupays Boys 12 and under: Scott Clayton, Wiliam Falle, Daniel Scriven, Chris Van Neste and George Dupays.

Last year also the juniors fought their way to the same stage of the event but, due to financial reasons, couldn’t go on to the next stage.

‘Now they have a great chance to go out and prove themselves against the best juniors in Britain,’ said Evans.
